Cataract Surgery and More near Sacramento and Roseville
From general eye exams to cataract surgery, Sacramento, Citrus Heights, and Roseville residents have long been turning to Dr. Richard Meister for the highest quality treatment and personal care for two decades and counting. Meister Eye & Laser Center offers a full range of procedures to ensure the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.
Cataract Surgery with Crystalens® Implants
Meister Eye & Laser Center is proud to offer the most advanced and effective cataract surgery in Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Roseville, and the surrounding area. The procedure involves removing the eye’s natural lens and replacing it with an intraocular lens (IOL) implant. Patients who undergo this surgery will not need the thick "Coke bottle" glasses that used to be associated with cataract surgery; the IOL performs the function of the natural lens and multi-focal ReSTOR®, ReZoom™, Crystalens® IOLs can altogether eliminate the need for bifocals or reading glasses.
Dr. Meister always strives to bring his patients the most progressive and innovative ophthalmologic technologies. This is why he chooses to use the revolutionary ReSTOR®, ReZoom™, or Crystalens® IOL for cataract surgery at his Sacramento and Roseville-area practice. These lenses are the first IOLs to restore full function to the eyes, allowing patients to focus with ease on objects both near and distant, usually without the need for glasses or contact lenses. Crystalens® can also be an ideal option for patients with presbyopia, or stiffening of the eye’s natural lens due to aging. Toric IOL implants are available to treat astigmatism. Learn more about how Crystalens® for presbyopia treatment can improve your visual acuity. Laser procedures used to treat glaucoma can reduce dependence upon medications and postpone the need for more drastic surgery. Dr. Meister uses a laser beam to treat the anterior chamber where fluid leaves the eye, facilitating drainage and reducing intra-ocular pressure. Although further surgery will still almost certainly be necessary every one to two years in the future, the procedure can help to slow damage to the optic nerve and minimize discomfort.
If you suffer from sagging upper eyelids or puffy bags above or beneath your eyes, blepharoplasty – more commonly known as “eyelid surgery” – may be the best option for you. In this procedure, Dr. Meister removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids, making you look younger, fresher, and more alert. In some cases, a patient’s vision may actually improve as a result of the surgery. To learn more about how Dr. Meister can rejuvenate your eyes through blepharoplasty, contact us to schedule a complimentary consult today!
Dr. Meister has devoted his career to helping his patients improve their vision through the latest advancements in ophthalmology, from WaveFront® LASIK, PRK, and other types of refractive surgery to Crystalens® cataract surgery. The best method for treating visual problems, however, is to catch them in their earliest stages. To accomplish this, it is vital that you have your eyes checked regularly, at least once a year – even if you believe your eyes are in perfect health. Dr. Meister applies the same precision and meticulous care that have made him the premier name in laser eye surgery to his general eye exams. Not only can he help you maintain the health of your eyes, but he can also detect and treat visual problems at their onset, possibly eliminating the need for more serious treatment in the future.
