Glaucoma Laser Procedures

Laser procedures used to treat glaucoma can reduce dependence upon medications and postpone the need for more drastic surgery. Dr. Meister uses a laser beam to treat the anterior chamber where fluid leaves the eye, facilitating drainage and reducing intra-ocular pressure. Although further surgery will still almost certainly be necessary every one to two years in the future, the procedure can help to slow damage to the optic nerve and minimize discomfort.
